William B. Travis Vanguard and Academy for the Academically Talented and Gifted.

Though that is the full and complete name of the school, it is generally called by the simpler title of Travis TAG. Travis TAG is two school programs in one building: Intermediate (4-5) and Middle School (6-8).

 

The purpose of this website is to be yet another method of getting the word out about the wonderful program at Travis. The Friends of Travis TAG know that the future success of our favorite school rests squarely on getting the best students. We can’t GET the best students if they haven’t heard of us.

 

Obviously, you’re looking for new possibilities for your child. Take a few minutes and check out the site. If what you see intrigues you even a little bit, call the school itself and arrange a tour.

Remember that application criteria changes a bit every year. What was appropriate last year may not be for this year.

 

Travis, like the rest of K-8 DISD, has adopted the DISD Uniform Code.

If you are even THINKING about applying to Travis. GET SIGNED UP for ITBS testing at your current DISD school before the end of November!!!! DISD students that come to Travis in February without scores are OUT of LUCK.

TOURS!!

School Tours:

The tours will last approximately an hour.

The first 30 min will be spent in the cafeteria.

The other 30 min will be touring the school.

The groups will be limited to 15 people.

Students are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Some are at 8:30 AM.

Some are at 2:00 PM.
